Over the past year, I\’ve been working on writing my biography. It’s not been an easy task, but it has been rewarding. The book is now 80% complete, and I am excited to say that we are hoping for a summer launch!
It is a story of struggle and hard work, but it is also a story of hope and success. Life comes with it’s own unique set of challenges but as I always say “It is not about what hand you’ve been dealt, it’s about how you play it”. Despite being black, disabled and suffering from polio, I have managed to forge multiple stable and prospering businesses; and with hard work and determination, you can achieve your goals too.
- Do you ever feel like you are not going to succeed? Keep trying, success can come when you least expect it.
- Are you afraid to fail? Don’t be. Every failure is a lesson. Use that experience to your advantage.
- And most important – Never give up.
I believe my book will benefit all kinds of people. The dreamers who want to start their own business but don’t know how to take the first step. The lost who are looking for direction or meaning in their lives. The lucky who managed to succeed and may have overcome similar struggles.
Lastly, as today is World Book Day, would your life story be a good subject for a book? Have you overcome challenges to achieve something you are proud of? Have you learnt a valuable lesson that could benefit others? I invite you to share your stories and lessons in the comments.
