I Can. I Will. Promotional Video

With the upcoming launch of my biography, I thought that it would be a more powerful tool to promote it via a video. The video itself is a collaboration between my son and me – Ren. It was a traumatic ordeal in itself. Ren did not know the full extent of my life story. However, the video is quite hard-hitting. Although it is a distressing story, I feel that it shows hope, linking to the quote, famously stated by philosopher ~

Friedrich Nietzsche “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”

I have always wanted to share my life story, and some have said to me that it would be a therapeutic tool. At the time I probably scoffed, whereas now it is like a weight has been lifted. The reason for writing my story was for therapeutic belief, but more importantly to help those experiencing or have experienced suffering, realise that it does get better. Unfortunately, life was never designed to be easy.

“Everything you can imagine is real.” – Pablo Picasso

The reason for the quote is because of the age-old saying ‘you have to see it to believe it.’ Now my book is in its’ final stages of publication. I wanted a way to promote it, without giving too much away. So when I first re-read my biography back, it was difficult to see it there so plainly in black and white. It is possibly the reason as to why I put writing my story off so much. It is an almost unbelievable story; if I didn’t write it myself, I might not believe it.

Through the video, I can share both a snippet of my book and memories through an interactive and visual medium. With the video, I feel that my audience will be able to relate to aspects of my story, giving them an emotional hook and reason to want to read my book.

The way in which a man accepts his fate and all the suffering it entails, the way in which he takes up his cross, gives him ample opportunity – even under the most difficult circumstances to add a deeper meaning to his life.” – Victor Frankl.

The video itself is harrowing yet straightforward, leave you yearning for more if I do say so myself. My biography does cover some dark subjects and prejudices which I have experienced in my life. However, I feel and hope that I have shown people that faith and perseverance make it all worthwhile. Life trauma does not necessarily have to break you but can make you into a stronger individual.

My outlook on life was once bleak, but I have proven against all the odds, that I can and I will. It was not an easy journey, but it is my journey. I want my audience to connect with my past, and see snippets of my life and memories. So without further ado, please find the link to the video.
