Navigating Challenges to Achieve Success
I am Mark Esho, a tech entrepreneur who has transitioned into semi-retirement. Now, I focus on resilience coaching, social entrepreneurship, and private investment endeavours.
I graduated from De Montfort University in 1994 with an MBA in Business Administration. While a Master’s degree is a notable achievement for most, for me, it marked the culmination of years of hard work battling against numerous obstacles.
At the age of five, my life changed dramatically when I became paralysed overnight due to contracting the poliovirus, which should have been eradicated from the UK by then. I was initially given a 10% chance of survival, but not only did I survive—I thrived.
I have overcome what others might perceive as insurmountable obstacles to become the person I am today. My positive, can-do mindset has allowed me not only to finish my studies and graduate from De Montfort University, but also to become the founder of several successful businesses: Easy Internet Services, a digital marketing agency; Easy Internet Solutions, a web hosting company; Dreme, a property investment company; and in 2019, Access Rating, a Community Interest Company (C.I.C). In February 2023, I launched Ability Connect CIC, a brand new project that collaborates with the University of Leicester Business School to offer training for aspiring disabled entrepreneurs.
In 2018, my autobiography, “I Can. I Will.” became a number one bestseller on Amazon. I was highly commended in the IoD Director of the Year (SME) 2016, and in 2019, I won the IoD Director of the Year (East Midlands) and the East Midlands Leadership Awards. In 2022, I was honored by the Queen with an MBE for services to business. In 2023, I was awarded a DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) by De Montfort University.I now spend my time running my social enterprises and speaking at public events.I will teach you that it doesn’t matter what obstacles life throws at you—it’s how you respond that counts! You may see me fall, you may see me cry, and you may see me on my knees. But you will never, ever see me GIVE UP.

Philosophy of Resilience and Social Impact
Weeks after this picture, I was paralysed from the neck down. I went from being a healthy 5-year-old to a talking head. My nightmare journey had begun!
Through my experiences, I advocate for leveraging challenges as stepping stones to success and embracing humanity in all endeavours.
